As meat-loving carnivores, cats can benefit from yummy organ meats like liver. In this recipe let your feline relish a tasty combo of liver, chicken, flax seed, and pumpkin for an autumn twist.
We teamed up with Lisa Hennessy of Your Pet Chef to bring you this PawCulture exclusive cat treat recipe that you can make at home.
- Measuring spoons
- Greased cookie sheet
- Food processor
- Plastic bags or containers to store food
- 8 oz. cooked chicken livers
- 8 oz. pureed pumpkin
- 1 tsp. ground cat nip
- 3 oz. ground flax seed
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Place livers on a greased cookie sheet and bake until well done, about 20-30 minutes. Allow to cool. Place all ingredients in food processor and blend until smooth.
Spoon bite-sized pieces on to greased cookie sheet and bake for 10 minutes. Allow to cool. Keep refrigerated in sealed container. These can be microwaved for a few seconds before serving to enhance aroma.

Cat nip and chicken livers for the win! Woodward and Camille devoured these bite-sized treats. Woodward enjoyed the flavor and was a big fan of the chicken livers. Camille is a big catnip advocate and fell into a blissful food coma after scarfing a few of these down.
