It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s … a dog just casually hanging out in a roof?!
After months of trying, five-year-old Huck figured out a way to get onto the roof of his owner’s house from their backyard. And, as reported by The Berry, Huckleberry (or Huck, as he’s known), quickly gained notoriety in his neighborhood, and soon on the internet, thanks to his interesting quirk.
Huck’s antics caused such a stir that his owners, Allie Burnitt and Justin Lindenmuth, left a note out front to assure onlookers that he is safe (and they know what he’s up to). It says:
“Huckleberry is living up to his name and learned how to jump onto our roof from the backyard. We never leave him in the backyard without someone being at home. He will not jump off unless you entice him with food or a ball! We appreciate your concern but please do not knock on our door… we know he’s up there! But please feel free to take pictures of him and share with the world! #hucktheroofdog.”
You better believe people did just that. How could you not?!
The hashtag “#hucktheroofdog” has become nothing short of a sensation on Twitter, with users sharing photos of Huck and getting hundreds and thousands of giddy retweets and responses.
Huck also has his very own Instagram, which has over 20,000 followers and counting.
Burnitt talked to ABC News about her newly-famous pupper, saying, “I think he just loves watching over our house and meeting his neighbors. The official motto here in Austin is ‘Keep Austin weird.’ Huck is definitely playing his part. We love how much joy our sweet pup is spreading.”
