Weekends call for warm, delectable pastries and now your dog can enjoy one, too! We’ve created these dog-friendly, honey-glazed apple cinnamon rolls with Kevyn Matthews, The Dog Chef.
- 3 cups chickpea flour
- ½ cup organic, sugar-free applesauce
- ¼ cup water
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tbsp. olive oil
- ½ cup honey
Set oven to 350 degrees.
In a large mixing bowl, beat the egg slowly add water and oil and beat with egg until frothy.
Add applesauce and stir until mixed together.
In another bowl, mix dry ingredients thoroughly, and then put dry mix into the liquid.
Mix until dough-like, add flour if needed. Make 3-ounce balls. Take the dough balls and roll back and forth while adding pressure to make the ball into a rope approximately 12-18 in long. Roll into a bun (or you can create individual mini cakes out of the batter).
Place on greased baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes.
Remove from oven and brush with honey.
Put rolls in oven an additional 10 minutes or until golden brown.
Remove from oven, brush them again with honey and let them cool. Enjoy!
