Pet parents are always capturing photos of their animals doing all sorts of adorable things. During Christmas, dogs (and reluctant cats) are paying visits to Santa at pet stores, posing with funny bells around their necks and frolicking through the snow on a cold winter’s day – all things that make them extra photogenic. What better way to display these snapshots than in a picture frame that your pet helped to create him or herself?
Follow our steps, below, to construct a pet-approved frame that makes a great gift to give to someone special for the holidays or to decorate your home with.
Tools you will need:
- Picture frame
- Photo mat
- Colorful paint
- Holiday stickers
- Paw wipes
- Paper towels
- Paper plate
- 1 pet paw
Place a tarp down on the floor to protect it from having paint spilled on it. Place photo mat down on the tarp and decorate it with Christmas stickers.
Squeeze some red paint onto a paper plate. Place your pet’s paw gently into the paint. Use a sponge to wipe off any excess paint and to make sure that the paint is evenly distributed along the surface of your pet’s paw.
Have your pet step gently onto the picture frame mat and transfer his or her paw print to the mat. Repeat this process until the mat is filled with red paw prints, leaving a small amount of space in between the prints.
Wipe the paint off of your pet’s paw and repeat the process above using the green paint in between the red paw prints.
Once you are happy with the look of the mat, wipe your pet down with paw wipes or a damp paper towel and place the mat on the counter to dry. While the mat dries, give your pet a proper bath to make sure that all of the paint is removed from the pads of his or her paws.
Once the mat is dry, place it inside the picture frame. Print out a cute photo of your pet looking his or her holiday best and place it inside the mat.
