At the 5th Annual Pawject Runway, a charity event hosted by Baltimore Animal Rescue & Care Shelter (BARCS), Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Torrey Smith made an incredible announcement in his former city.

According to the BARCS Facebook page, Torrey and Chanel had been backstage discussing ways to help the many animals they’d met at this event and wanted to ensure they all found loving, caring forever homes.

With that, Smith and his wife Chanel announced that they would pay the adoption fees for all 46 dogs and cats featured at the event. Their gift inspired the attendees, as well as the non-profit organization they were helping.

“The Smith family went above and beyond, making an extra donation on top of each animals’ adoption fees. It was the best finale we could ask for,” BARCS said in the Facebook post.

The former Ravens star is no stranger to the BARCS family, as he and his family adopted their two dogs from the shelter. Additionally, during his time in Baltimore, Smith donated to BARCS repeatedly and participated in the organization’s Show Your Soft Side campaign.

While Smith may no longer play for Baltimore, he’s still making big moves for the city’s homeless pets in need.
